Parking: There is a rest area at mile marker 132 west of the Grass Lake truck scale. East of the Jackson weigh station are a small Clark truck stop at exit 162 and a TA truck stop at exit 167.
Alternate Route Information
Take exit 150 and turn right off the ramp. You’ll go down about 2.5 miles to the flashing red light at E. Michigan Ave. You’ll cross over a set of slightly raised rail road tracks. There will be a BP gas station on the right hand corner at the intersection. Turn left. You’ll stay on E. Michigan Ave. all the way until it reconnects with I 94 east- about 7.5 miles. E. Michigan Ave. turns into old route 12. You’ll make no turns until you get back to I 94. There are signs along the route marking “Emergency route 94.” You can follow those signs and cut back to the interstate sooner, but it’s shorter to just remain straight until E. Michigan Ave returns you to the freeway. - EB
Alternate Route Information
Take exit 157 for Old US route 12 and Pierce Road. THIS IS NOT THE EXIT BEFORE THE SCALES. Turn left off the ramp and go about 7.5 miles on Old US route 12 which is also E. Michigan Avenue. When you get to the town of Grass Lake you’ll come to a flashing yellow light at the corner of South Union Street. You’ll know you’re getting close to town when you go past the Chevy/Pontiac dealer on the left. There is a BP gas station on the far right corner of the intersection of S. Union St. Turn right. You’ll go about 2.5 miles up and over the freeway to the ramp for west bound I 94. - WB
