Alternate Route Information
Northbound out of Colorado Springs take rte 83 north to Franktown- here you can either take route 86 west back to I 25 or stay on route 83 north to Parker/Denver area. 83 is a good running state route and rte 86 has a few lights but is decent road. Another alt route is rte 24 east to Limon Colorado when you get to Limon do not turn right at the light- go straight and go past the TA to the freeway entrance for I 70 west toward Denver or turn right at the light in Limon and go through town and follow rotue 71 north (you will have to cross the Limon scales on the state route side) north to I 76 to miss the Fort Morgan scale also. Please note: if you are over 80,000 lbs gross weight you are not allowed on I 25 or I 70. - NB
Alternate Route Information
Southbound out of Denver take I 25 south to exit 182/rte 86 east. This is not well marked but it exit 182- you will cross over the freeway and turn south through town and there is a sign for route 86 pointing left. Turn left at the light AFTER the sign, not before the sign. Take route 86 east to Franktown where you will hit route 83 south and take that back to I 25 in the Colorado Springs area. 86 has a few lights and 83 is good running road. Another alt. route is to take I70 east out of Denver to Limon Colorado and take the Limon exit number 359 (TA/Rip Griffen truckstop) and follow signs for 24 west to Colorado Springs. When you get to I25 in Colorado springs you are south of the scales. Please note: if you are over 80,000 lbs gross weight you are not allowed on I 25 or I 70. - SB
