Alternate Route Information
Take exit 143 and turn left off the ramp. You’ll be on route 280/route 30. You’ll go up 1.7 miles to the flashing red light at route 80. Turn right on route 80. Right there where you turn onto route 80 you’ll see roadside parking for the Peach Pit Cafe, Brian Bolin’s BBQ and Sarah’s Restaurant on your right.
From this point you have a couple of options. You can stay on route 80 for 3.8 miles until you get to Old River Road. It’s very poorly marked- you’ll know you’re there when you see a Chevron gas station on the right. The turnoff for Old River Road angles off to the right just before the Chevron. Old River Road is marked as a 28 ton weight limit. But there is a Lumber Mill and marked truck entrances on Old River Road. If you choose to take Old River Road back to the freeway you’ll go 3.3 miles to turn left onto east bound I 16.
If you don’t want to take a weight limit marked road, you can continue east on route 80 for another 5.6 miles (a total of 9.4 miles on route 80). You’ll come to the flashing yellow light for route 17 south (this will be about 2.5 miles after the left turnoff for route 17 north- stay straight on route 80 until you get to route 17 south). Turn right and go 3 miles back to the ramp for I 16 east bound- turn left onto the ramp.

In live in ellabell ga near weight station on i-16 on Black Creek Church Road which has a weight limit I have been seeing oversize load and semis and log trucks using this road so they could bypass weigh stations and far as I know there are no trees being cut down on this road they've already been cut down they still shouldn't be using them especially to overs size overweight semis.
