Alternate Route Information
The easy way out is to just run I 94 and pay the ridiculously over-priced toll rates.
But if you want to run down route 41, take exit 1 Russell Road and turn left off the exit. Go down 1.9 miles to Kilbourne Road. Turn right and go down a few miles to route 173. You have two choices here. You can turn right on route 173 and go 1.7 miles to route 41 and turn left. The problem with this route is that there is a sign just before route 41 that says all trucks over 7 tons must weigh and you are required to turn right/north onto route 41, go up to the south bound weigh station and turn in to weigh if they are open. They cannot see you from the weigh station unless they are really looking or have a cruiser waiting for you if you decided to ignore the weigh station sign and turn left.
The other option is to continue straight on Kilbourne road another 4.4 miles to the dead end at Wadsworth Road/route A9. The last .7 miles on Kilbourne is not a Class 11 truck route but there are no “no trucks” signs and no marked limitations. You’ll turn right at the dead end onto Wadsworth Road and go 1.2 miles back to route 41 south. There is a McDonalds on the near right corner, a Mobil on the near left corner and a Citgo on the far right corner at the junction of route 41.
