WEIGH STATION

Parking: Exit 68 has the Association of Christian Truckers Road Angel’s Truckers Center with truck parking, showers and laundry north of the freeway west of the Brownsville truck scale. Exit 82 has a McDonald’s and Phillips 66 with a small truck lot and there is a rest area at mile marker 86.5 east of the weigh station. There are also several truck stops in Effingham, Illinois, at the junction with I 57 east of the scale.
Alternate Route Information
Take exit 68- be aware that there is a sign before the exit that says “Trucks Over 8 Tons Must Stay on I 70.” You’ll turn right off the ramp onto route 40 west. On your right, there is a repair shop- Clymer Truck Service. On your left there is a gravel drop lot for trailers. You’ll go past the drop lot to the corner and turn left. This is route 185. On the far left corner of the turn onto route 185, you’ll see Fayette county Concrete, Inc. Once you turn on to route 185, you’ll follow it for 18.7 miles back to I 57. Route 185 is a good 2-lane state route. You’ll pass through the town of St. Peter- there is a rail road crossing in St. Peter with a slight rise to it- but it is mostly flat. When you get close to I 57, you’ll see S&S RV Sales. There is a BP truck stop with a Subway on the far side of I 57. You’ll cross over I 57 and turn left onto I 57 north. I 57 north will junction back with I 70 in Effingham, Illinois.
