Parking: There is a Pilot truck stop and a Flying J at exit 0 in Texas east of the Anthony Port of Entry. There is a Vado Travel City truck stop and National Truck Stop at exit 155 west of the truck scale.
Alternate Route Information
This is not a legal truck route- there is a length limit in Anthony, TX, and trucks are required to cross the port of entry- signs along the route mark that you are required to cross the port of entry.
Take exit 0 at the Texas/New Mexico border. This is the exit for the Flying J truck stop and the Pilot (the old Williams). Turn left off the exit- you’ll cross over the freeway and pass the Pilot truck stop on your left. You’ll continue straight- trucks over 45 feet long are prohibited. You’ll go about 1.5 miles to the dead end at Main Street (at a light). Turn right onto Main. You’ll cross the border shortly. When you cross into New Mexico, you’ll see a sign that reads “Warning: All Trucks Must Proceed to Port of Entry.” The sign indicates that you must stay right/straight at the light on route 460. However, you turn left at the light onto route 478. After you turn left onto route 478, you’ll go 8.9 miles. You’ll be directly south of the I 10 Anthony Port of Entry at about the 4 mile marker on route 478- the scale is visible but you are a long ways off. You will pass another sign that says All Trucks Must Proceed to Port of Entry. After 8.9 miles, you will come to the right turn onto route 227- NOT ROUTE 226. At the junction of route 227, there is a sign “to I 10″ indicating a right turn. Just after the turn, you’ll pass a Dollar General on your right. You’ll follow route 227 for 2 miles back to the ramp for I 10 west- you’ll pass by the NTS and Texaco truck stops. This route puts you out at exit 155.
